However, Synology currently labels both AI/ML anomaly detection and pre-recovery malware scanning as coming soon. Businesses should therefore base today’s purchasing decision on functionality currently available rather than assuming every announced APM 2.0 security capability is already active. The existing immutable, air-gap, access-control, encryption, and backup-copy capabilities already provide substantial reasons to consider the platform.
Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace Should Be Part of the Same Conversation
Small businesses increasingly have less data sitting on traditional servers and more inside cloud applications. Email, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, and Google Workspace may contain some of the organization’s most important information. A backup strategy that protects office computers but ignores SaaS data is incomplete.
